The portrait is perhaps the biggest challenge – and the most beautiful one.
As with nude, it is important for me to understand, capture and visualise the individual character of humanity with different techniques. With portraits, it’s all in the detail – and every little minutiae can change the whole picture. Capturing the soul in the eye, which I consider as most important, can not be described. Just in one picture.
It’s more than just the realistic representation of a face – it’s the study of the human body – of humans themselves, as much as of the individual persons. A study, which never ends, challenges yourself afresh every day and challenges you every time again.
